Serves: 2 adults
2 x 170g sirloin steaks
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tsp honey
1 tbsp cold butter
Black pepper
2 crushed garlic cloves
2 tsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp soy sauce
To serve:
Wilted spinach
Baked potatoes

  1. Add the oil to a heavy frying pan over a high heat and season the steaks with black pepper. When the pan begins to smoke, add the steak and cook for 1-2 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your liking. Transfer to a plate and cover loosely with foil.
  2. Add the garlic to the pan and cook for 10 seconds, then add the soy sauce, balsamic vinegar and honey. Bring to a simmer, then remove from the heat and stir in the butter. Spoon over the steak and serve with wilted spinach and baked potatoes.
