Cork EUROSPAR Supermarkets Raise an Exceptional €10,300 for their Local Charity Partner

01/12/15

Earlier this year, our four Cork EUROSPAR supermarkets announced that they had united together to select Marymount University Hospital & Hospice as their nominated local Charity Partner. EUROSPAR Dunmanway, EUROSPAR Passage West, EUROSPAR Whitegate, and Drinagh Co-Op EUROSPAR Skibbereen have together raised a fantastic €10,300 for Marymount University Hospital & Hospice, with all funds going to support the important work of the healthcare facility. The €10,300 was raised through in-store own brand sales and charity boxes.

Located in Curaheen on the edge of Cork City, Marymount University Hospital offers three distinct services – the hospital provides respite, intermediate palliative and residential care services for the older person; the Hospice offers specialist palliative care services, at both inpatient and community level; and the Education Centre offers University and other courses, placement and conference facilities. In the fundraising department, a group of 32 volunteers work towards raising the €2 million needed annually to cover the healthcare facility’s costs.
