Christmas Activity: DIY napkin holders

09/12/16

This simple trick uses an empty toothpaste box, glitter and glue to make a decorative napkin holder. Kids can make one for each Christmas dinner guest – keeping them occupied for hours!

Makes 4

You will need:
Empty toothpaste box (or similarly shaped long thin box)
White paint
Brush
White card
Scissors
Gold glitter glue
Glue

01

1 Cut the ends of the box off. Cut the box into four equal sections.
02

2 Paint the outsides of napkin holders white and allow to dry.
03

3 Draw four stars on the white card (ask an adult to help if you find stars tricky to draw). Carefully cut out the stars.

05

4 Squeeze a small dollop of glitter glue onto a piece of paper. Using your finger, dab the glitter glue around the outsides of the napkin holders and on one side of each star. Allow to dry thoroughly.
06

5 Use glue to attach a star to the top of each napkin holder. Allow to dry, then push a rolled napkin into each holder and place on the table.
