Santa’s spiced gin and tonics

Tonic water |
Ice cubes |
1 tbsp pure cranberry juice |
1 tbsp pure orange juice |
Zest of ½ an orange |
1 tsp ground allspice |
1 cinnamon stick, broken into 3-4 pieces |
6 whole cloves |
100g caster sugar |
1 x 700ml bottle of gin |
directions
- In a clean, sterilised one-litre bottle, jar or similar container, combine the sugar, spices, orange zest, orange juice and cranberry juice. Pour in the bottle of gin and stir everything together.
- Seal the bottle, then shake until the sugar dissolves. Put the jar in a cool, dark place for 10 days, shaking once a day.
- Strain the spiced gin through a sieve.
- Use the spiced gin to makes festive gin and tonics.
