Serves: 1 to 2 portions
Ingredients
Cinnamon syrup
3 cinnamon sticks
300g sugar
400g water
8 blackberries (frozen or fresh can be used)
240ml orange juice
80ml lemon juice
90ml cinnamon syrup
Soda water
Crushed ice (optional)
Extra blackberries

directions

  1. Cinnamon syrup: Add the cinnamon sticks, sugar and water to a pot and bring to the boil. Turn down to a simmer and simmer for 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely before using. Only once cooled take out the cinnamon sticks. Can be poured into a bottle and kept in the fridge for up to a month.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, muddle the blackberries with wooden spoon. Add the orange juice, lemon juice and cinnamon syrup and shake well.
  3. Scoop crushed ice into ¼ of the glass and pour the muddle over the ice to ¾ full. Top with soda.
  4. Garnish with extra blackberries if required and even a long cinnamon stick for muddling would be great.
